Direct cremation is the most basic form of cremation service and offers families a simple and dignified option. The cremation process is handled with utmost care and respect without a formal ceremony or witnessing beforehand.
Our witnessed cremation service allows families to be present during the start of the cremation process, offering a sense of closure and participation. This service allows family members to gather in our private, peaceful facility to perform a traditional ceremony or symbolic ritual, say their final goodbyes, and honour their loved one’s transition with dignity.
Gather in our Prayer Room to celebrate the life of a loved one who has passed, in our beautiful and serene facility. These services can be tailored to reflect the unique personality and legacy of your loved one, as well as cultural, religious or family traditions.
It is important for families to know that before cremation, they must first make arrangements with a funeral home to: transfer the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home; register the death, secure the burial permit and Coroner’s Cremation Certificate, and prepare the Cremation Application for the executor/next of kin to sign; purchase a traditional or cremation casket; discuss preparation of the body and any optional services such as visitation or a funeral; and arrange for transfer of the deceased to the crematorium. If the family wants a celebration of life, memorial service, traditional funeral service, visitation or viewing, the funeral director will help you to organize these. Whether you want a gathering that is traditional or unique, the funeral director can help you organize the location, clergy or celebrant, music, live streaming, tributes, on-line notices and other personal/family details. We will work with our funeral partners to make sure that the timing and other special family needs or requirements are fully met.

Families often require assistance after the cremation. Our funeral home partners can help arranging for placing the cremated remains in an urn, and burial, shipping or scattering. They can also assist with memorialization, estate matters (CPP death and survivor benefits, etc.), providing Proof of Death Certificates, and even referral to grief counselling if needed. Our team will work with our funeral partners to make sure your family’s preferences and needs are seamlessly met.
